Mission Briefing
Before you begin your mission to save planet Earth’s water supply, you must first understand where water comes from!
ARE WE DRINKING WHAT DINOS DRANK?
Well, you might not believe it … BUT … all the water on earth is constantly recycled … so
YES the water you drink today is the same water that dinosaurs drank!
It works like this:
Clouds produce some type of precipitation (rain / sleet / snow) which falls to Earth and then drains into our waters (lakes / rivers / oceans).
As the sun heats the atmosphere, droplets from those bodies of water begin to evaporate into the air (or atmosphere).
Once the droplets reach the upper layers of the atmosphere, they condense and form clouds; and the cycle begins all over again.
Drag and drop the descriptions to the correct spot on this poster board of the Water Cycle.
🌧
Precipitation
The cycle starts with the clouds becoming so full that they burst, resulting in rain.
🌧
Evaporation
Explain that the second part of the water cycle, evaporation, happens because of the heat the sun radiates on the water.
🌧
Condensation
This is the third part of the cycle-condensation-it is when the water vapor in the air is transformed into clouds.
